Kokomo Scanner uses a separate service provided by our Webmaster/general IT person, Admin ~A. He is currently NOT programming new scanners at this time but is available to help with any questions you may have. Here are a few fequently asked question:
Q: What scanner can I buy to listen to Howard County ?
A: Howard County runs a P25 System. All channels are Phase II now. Below are a list of scanners that will pick up the current system.
- Phase I and II
Q: Where can I find the frequencies for Howard County?
A: The new digital system uses a combination of frequencies and talkgroup ID’s (TGID). For that information, I use a combination of Radioreference.com and data I get from my scanner.
Q: How much do you charge?
A: I charged $30 per scanner, but I am currently not programming new scanners. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have via email or private message to our pages.
Q: What do you program on the scanner?
A: Howard County Sheriff’s Department, Kokomo Police Department, City and County Fire Departments, and EMS
Q: How long does it take for you to program a scanner?
A: I usually keep the scanner overnight. Most of that is to test and make sure the scanner is working properly. I can make arrangements to return your scanner quicker depending on my schedule.
Q: Can you program scanners for other counties?
A: Yes, for our surrounding counties, but I can’t always test them to make sure they will work properly.
